I lack the wisdom of your age
No bushes have burnt unconsumed before me
Neither have rivers bled
Nor insects plagued my land
Yet Moses I do tonight what you did
Before Israel crossed the Jordan
Remember! you cried
And so will I
I fear my speech will be long
There is so much to say
My heart is heavy with much sorrow, hope and joy
My mind fraught with memories of old and visions of new
Oh God, as you led him and taught them
So lead me and teach me
Bless them and guide them
Not in my hands or theirs
but in your hands rests
All our hope and our very lives.
